Beijing Capital International Airport will experience further growth in passenger capacity this month, edging its way closer to becoming the world’s busiest airport.
Monthly capacity at the Chinese capital increased 8% to 9.27 million seats this month, according to the latest data from OAG. This puts it closer to Atlanta airport, which saw capacity increase just 1% to 9.84m available seats this month.
Fourth place Tokyo Haneda also saw strong growth, increasing 5% to 7.98m seats – ahead of Chicago (-3% to 7.31m) but behind London Heathrow (+1% to 8.12m).
