China’s railways carried nearly 25 million passengers during the three-day Dragon Boat Festival holiday, up 7.5% year-on-year.
According to statistics from the country’s Ministry of Railways, reported by Xinhua, the daily peak was hit on Friday 22 June when seven million people headed to their hometowns or tourist spots for the weekend. Railway authorities laid on 894 additional trains to cater for the rush.
