Travel content

There's more to Thailand than palm trees and gorgeous beaches. Come to the lovely old city of Chiang Mai, with more than 700 years of history, to discover its enchanting blend of culture, spirituality, and natural beauty. Called the "Rose of the North," this idyllic city was once so secluded that it could only be reached by elephant. Today the city is far more accessible, but still retains its charm, perhaps best seen in the many gorgeous temples and pagodas. Embraced by mountains, Chiang Mai also has a wealth of waterfalls and is home to many different ethnic tribes.

Travel Itinerary

  • Day 1:
    Beijing - Bangkok - Chiang Mai

    Flight from Beijing to Chiang Mai via Bangkok with Thai Airlines.
    Upon arrival, meet your guide at the airport, and then transfer to the hotel.
    Time at leisure.

  • Day 2:
    Chiang Mai (B, L)

    One-day tour to Mae Sa Elephant Camp, where you can watch an elephant show, and Chiang Mai Zoo to see pandas.
    Overnight in Chiang Mai

  • Day 3:
    Chiang Mai (B, L)

    Land transfer to another famous city in northern Thailand, Chiang Rai. Here you can visit the ethnic hill tribes and see the golden triangle on the way back to Chiang Mai.
