Travel content

Charity, social and NGO work are relatively new to China. Nevertheless, the last several years have seen the slow but steady growth of homegrown organizations from big cities such as Beijing and Shanghai, staffed by Chinese volunteers keen to give something back to China's many poor rural communities. Indeed, while Yangshou may be rich in stunning natural beauty, the local rural communities that most visitors to this attractive corner of southern China never see are typical of China's poorer class.

We believe every child deserves a decent education and a chance to succeed in life. It is for that reason that we have teamed-up with local schools to offer you a chance to both soak-up the gorgeous Yangshuo scenery and, at the same time, make a meaningful contribution to local children. Through teaching English, lending a hand with library building and even farm work, this is rural China at your fingertips in one of the most beautiful of settings.
