  • Attention: Kindly note that we stay in places up to 4,000 meters above sea level. Please ask your doctor for advice, if you think that you might suffer from the effects of altitude. However, you will have time to acclimatize. Trips to Tibet require adaptability, improvisation, and flexibility from all travelers.
  • Road conditions in Tibet have improved remarkably, although they are still not comparable to well developed areas
  • Note also that meals in Tibet cannot match that of the cities in eastern and southern China.

  • Please note that this tour is only possible from May to September. In the rest of the year temperatures in Lhasa are fine, but in some areas outside of Lhasa it will be too cold.

Trek your way across the stunning natural landscapes of Tibet for a unique adventure in the far western reaches of China. Visit a number of ancient Tibetan monasteries as you travel from Chengdu in Sichuan to Lhasa, the capital of the Tibet Autonomous Region. Learn more about the mysteries of ancient Tibetan Buddhism as you enjoy some breathtaking scenery along your way. An adventure of a lifetime!
 

Travel Itinerary

  • Day 1:
    Beijing/Shanghai –Chengdu
    • Flight from Beijing/Shanghai to Chengdu, our tour guide will wait for you at the airport.
    • Transfer to hotel after arrival.
    • Time at leisure to explore Chengdu.
    • Overnight in Chengdu
  • Day 2:
    Chengdu –Linzhi (B L D)
    • Transfer to airport in the morning for the flight from Chengdu to Linzhi.
    • Drive from the airport to Linzhi Hotel. Tour of Lamaling on the way
    • Start trekking to Bonri Kora (approx. 10km. Trekking time approx. 4 hours).
    • Overnight in Kasama Camp (Tent).
  • Day 3:
    Kasama Camp- Sigyal Monastery (B L D)
    • Trek from Kasama Camp to the Camp at Sigyal Monastery (approx. 25km, Trekking time approx. 8 hours)
  • Day 4:
    Sigyal Monastery – Seqinla -Linzhi (B L D)
    • Trek from the Camp at Sigyal Monastery to Seqinla (approx. 25km, Trekking time approx. 8 hours).
    • Drive back to Linzhi by coach.
    • Overnight in Linzhi Hotel
  • Day 5:
    Linzhi-Basum Tso Lake (B L D)
    • Drive from Linzhi to Basum Tso Lake, a clear mountain lake approx. 2 hours from Linzhi.
    • Trek along the lake and visit a Tibetan monastery on a small lake island.
    • Overnight in the Basum Tso Hotel
  • Day 6:
    Basum Tso Lake –Lhasa (B L)
    • Drive from Basum Tso Lake to Lhasa.
    • Time at leisure to explore Lhasa, the provincial capital of Tibet Autonomous Region.
    • Overnight in Lhasa
  • Day 7:
    Lhasa (B L)
    • Visit the amazing Potala Palace (the former winter residence of the Dalai Lama)
    • Visit Sera Monastery and Norbulingka (the former summer residence of the Dalai Lama).
    • Overnight in Lhasa
  • Day 8:
    Lhasa (B L)
    • Visit to Jokhang Temple in downtown Lhasa, Barkhor Street and Drepung Monastery.
    • Overnight in Lhasa
  • Day 9:
    Lhasa (B L)
    • Trek to Tsechuling Monastery on the Northern shore of the Lhasa River, at the base of Mizongtsering Mountain in the surrounding area of Lhasa.
    • Overnight in Lhasa
  • Day 10:
    Lhasa – Tsedang (B L D)
    • Drive to Samye Monastery.
    • Afterwards trek to Chim-puk Valley (approx. 10km. Trekking time approx. 3 hours).
    • Drive to Tsedang.
    • Overnight in Tsedang
  • Day 11:
    Tsedang –Lhasa –Beijing/Shanghai (B)
    • Transfer to Lhasa airport for the return flight to Beijing/Shanghai via Chengdu.
