An island with a very unique history, culture, and vibe, Taiwan offers visitors a special glimpse into a place unlike the rest of China and East Asia. This tour lets you see the best the island has to offer including stunning natural vistas, local handicrafts, village life, and the big city lights of the capital of Taiwan, Taipei.Learn about Buddhism’s influence on history and development of modern day Taiwan with a trip to Kaohsiung, which houses the largest Buddhist monastery in Taiwan. For a look at life outside the larger cities, you will get to visit more traditional villages, whose residents still rely on their handicraft skills for a living.As you travel around the island you will take in breathtaking views of the Pacific Ocean, the Chingshui Cliffs, and Taroko National Park. Bring your camera, because the photo opportunities along the route are countless!

Travel Itinerary

  • Day 1:
    Beijing / Shanghai - Taipei
    • Fly to Taipei independently
    • Reference flight schedule: CA185  08:35-11:45
    • Arrive at Taoyuan Airport. 
    • To be transferred to hotel by car/van (without guide)
    • Free at your own leisure for the day
    • Overnight in Taipei
  • Day 2:

    • Leisure day in Taipei

    Taipei (B)
    • 08:30 After breakfast, pick up by German speaking guide for Taipei city half-day tour
    • Visit: National Palace Museum, Martyr’s Shrine, Longshan temple, Chiang Kai-Shek Memorial Hall), Handicraft Center, and Taipei 101 photo stop.
    • Overnight in Taipei
  • Day 3:
    Taipei-Puli-Sun Moon Lake
    • 08:30 to be picked up by German speaking driving guide and proceed to Sun Moon Lake.  Photo stop at Sanyi, woodcarving village.
    • 11:00Arrive Puli, visit papery workshop, photo stop at Paper Church.
    • Continue to Sun Moon Lake, driving along the lake and visit Wen Wu Temple with beautiful lake view.
    • If time allows before it’s dark, visit Tse En Pagoda and Tehua Village.
    • Overnight in Sun Moon Lake
  • Day 4:
    Sun Moon Lake-Tainan-Foguangshan (B D)
    • 08:30  After breakfast, drive south for Tainan.
    • 11:30  Arrive Tainan to visit Chikan Tower and Confucius Temple. Also taking a walking tour around this area.
    • 14:00  Proceed to Kaohsiung. Visit the biggest monastery in Taiwan, Foguanshan Monastery. Visit the Main Shrine, Buddhist Museum and Great Buddha  Land.Clients will have a light vegetarian dinner at the monastery.
    • Overnight in Foguanshan Monastery
  • Day 5:
    Foguanshan-Kaohsiung-Taitung (B)
    • 05:30  Clients can choose to be an early bird and join the early morning chanting. After the vegetarian breakfast, clients will visit the Buddha Memorial Center.
    • 11:30  Drive to Kaohsiung City and photo stop at Dragon & Tiger Pagoda; Spring & Autumn Pavilion.
    • 13:00  Proceed to Taitung.
    • 16:30  Arrive at Taitung, to check in hotel and enjoy the natural hot spring for the remainder of the day.
    • Overnight at Taitung
  • Day 6:
    Taitung-Hualien (B)
    • 08:30  Drive north along the east coast to visit Siaoyeliou, Dulan (art center and café with pacific view), Tunghe Bridge (you may see wild monkeys here), and Sansientai.
    • 17:00  Arrive Hualien County. Check in hotel.
    • Rest of day free at leisure.
    • Overnight at Hualien
  • Day 7:
    Hualien-Taroko-Taipei (B)
    • 08:30  Taroko National Park tour: visit Tunnel of Nine Turns, Swallow Grotto, Eternal Spring Shrine Taroko Gorge Gateway and marble factory.
    • 13:30  Back to Taipei via Su-Hua highway and stop at the Chingshui Cliffs. Visit handicraft center or souvenir shop.
    • 18:00  Complete the tour.
    • Remark : * If high way that connects Hualien and Taipei is losed due to the bad weather, we’ll arrange clients to take train from Hualien back to Taipei. An additional surcharge for train ticket is US$20 per pax

    Taipei-Beijing /Shanghai (B)
    • Free at leisure.
