Travel Itinerary

  • Day 1:
    (DEC 20) Beijing – Colombo – Habarana
    • Suggested flight To Colombo: Sri Lankan Airlines UL 869 Arrival 05:45 
    • Ayubowan! Welcome to Sri Lanka
    • Upon arrival this afternoon, step off the plane and look for a representative holding a sign with your names on it, you will be escorted to the vehicle of yours.
    • Afterwards, proceed to Habarana. Check in to your hotel & relax.
    • Overnight in Habarana  
  • Day 2:
    (DEC 21) Habarana – Polonnaruwa – Minneriya National Park – Habarana (B)
    • Proceed to Polonnaruwa. Explore the ancient site in bicycles.
    • Polonnaruwa is another “UNESCO World Heritage Site” was the Capital of Sri Lanka from 11th - 13th Centuries, contains some splendid and spectacular statues. Lankatilake, Tivanka and Thuparama are the most beautiful and largest Image Houses and Tivanka has the best examples of frescoes of the Polonnaruwa period. 
    • Transfer to Minneriya National Park after lunch. Engage in an afternoon game drive at the Minneriya National Park. This National Park with 8889 hectares in extent is famous for its large population of elephants in herds of 100 to 150 roaming in the jungle and seen in the catchment area of the lake. Besides, wild buffaloes, wild boar, spotted deer, sloth bear, Sambhur, leopards, crocodiles, jackals, 9 kinds of amphibians, 25 kinds of reptiles, 160 species of birds, 26 varieties of fishes, 78 varieties of butterflies are recorded from the Minneriya National Park.  
    • Enjoy a jungle BBQ dinner in Minneriya.
    • Proceed back to the hotel & relax.

  • Day 3:
    (DEC 22) Habarana – Kandy (B)
    • Breakfast at the hotel.
    • Transfer to Kandy. En route visit the Matale spice garden.
    • Proceed to the hotel check in & relax.

  • Day 4:
    (DEC 23) Kandy (B)
    • Breakfast  at the hotel
    • Visit the Peradeniya royal botanical garden. Started in 1374 as a pleasure garden of the Kings of Gampola and Kandy.  There are more than 5,000 species of trees, plants and creepers. Some rare and endemic as well as flora from the tropical world are found in the gardens.
    • Visit the Sacred Temple of the Tooth Relic.
    • Witness a cultural dancing show in Kandy. Sri Lanka, a country rich with culture & tradition offers a very vibrant and unique show of Sri Lankan traditional dances, in the form of Kandy cultural show. The dance form "Salupliya" depicts several demons, "Thelme" is a vibrant expression of low country rhythm, Fire and Harvest dances are accompanied by Ceremonial Drums and the Drum Orchestra rises and falls to a lively tempo. As many as 12 different folk and traditional dances are performed by the Kandy lake club dance troop within the span of one hour.

  • Day 5:
    (DEC 24) Kandy – Ella (B, D)
    • Breakfast at Hotel
    • Proceed to Peradeniya railway station. Take the scenic train ride from Kandy to Ella (approx. for 5 hours). You will embark a journey through central highlands & beautiful tea plantations of the country.          
    • Check in to your hotel & relax.  Enjoy the X-mas gala dinner at the hotel.

  • Day 6:
    (DEC 25) Ella (B)
    • Breakfast at Hotel.
    • Ascend the Mini Adam’s Peak. You can explore full day by walking with the guide. The view from Ella Gap is one of the most spectacular scenic sights in Sri Lanka - the landscape falls away in a dizzy drop of 3000ft to the eastern plains. The Ella rock is famous for the cave of Ravana a legendary king of Sri Lanka ruled during the pre-historic times.

  • Day 7:
    (DEC 26) Ella – Udawalava (B)
    • Transfer to Udawalava after having the breakfast at the hotel. 
    • Check in to your hotel & relax. Rest of the day spent at leisure.

  • Day 8:
    (DEC 27) Udawalava National Park (B)
    • Proceed early morning to the Udawalava National Park. Engage in a game drive at the park. The park covers an area of 230,821 hectares and is rich in elephants, wild buffalo, spotted deer, barking deer, wild boar, sambhur, hare, mongoose, crocodile, snakes, 50 species of butterflies and many species of birds.
    • Overnight in Udawalava
  • Day 9:
    (DEC 28) Udawalava – Sinharaja (B)
    • After the breakfast at the hotel proceed to Sinharaja.
    • Check in to your lovely nature eco lodge hotel and relax. Spend your rest of the day at leisure.

  • Day 10:
    (DEC 29) Sinharaja Rain Forest (B)
    • Enjoy the breakfast at the hotel. Commence a full day trek at the Sinharaja Rain Forest. Sinharaja is the only “UNESCO World Heritage Site” Rain Forest in Sri Lanka, with a very high rate of bio-diversity. Sinharaja is the only relatively undisturbed rain forest of any considerable size and many of the plants are very rare and are represented by only one individual of its kind in a large area.

  • Day 11:
    (DEC 30) Sinharaja – Hikkaduwa (B)
    • Transfer to your beach hotel in Hikkaduwa after breakfast.
    • Check in to the hotel & relax. Free time spent on the beach.

    • Full day at leisure on the beach.
    • Enjoy the New Year Gala Dinner at the hotel.
