Trip to Bayan Zag, the Flaming Cliffs, exploring the Gobi "Cemetery of Dinosaurs" in the steps of Roy Chapman Andrews. This American paleontologist's first discovery of dinosaur remains here in the early 1920s made the Gobi Desert famous as an enormous natural dinosaur cemetery. The harsh climate and remoteness of the desert have naturally preserved the relics of prehistoric life, and the discoveries found here reveal myriads of strange creatures. Unique findings include two huge, fully preserved skeletons of Tarbozaurus, the largest dinosaur ever known and dinosaur eggs with the embryos inside.
Return to base camp for dinner.

    Gobi Desert (B, L, D)

Continue your trip to Hongoryn Els (Singing Dunes) located in the largest area of dunes covering 925 square kilometers (180 km by 8 to 27 km) at 1040-1840 meters above sea level with some reaching great heights. An amazing spot in the midst of the dunes is little lake called Lake Adag. Another phenomenon is a little spring, containing considerable amounts of chemicals, which flows out into a green meadow near the sand dunes. The Khongor River runs along the north edge of the sand dunes. The picturesque views in these contrasting landscapes are totally captivating! Optional camel-riding and sand-skiing activities are available in the area.
Our midday meal will be a box lunch.
Arrive at the camp and relax.
Excursions to nearby places (within 10 km) such as Lake Adag, Seruun Bulag and the Singing Dunes.
    Dinner is provided.

  • Day 4:
    Gobi Desert: Eagle Valley (B)

Very wide at the entrance; it narrows gradually into a remarkable gorge with granite walls. There is a thick corridor of ice, which does not melt even in the hottest days of summer. Herds of ibex and wild sheep inhabit the area and birds soar overhead in a vast desert mosaic scene. At sunrise wild animals come down from the peaks to drink at water springs.
