Discover a World beneath the Ocean in Sipadan

Travel days:  8 days

  • Round trip flight tickets in economy class including airport tax and fuel surcharge.
  • Ground transfer within Tawau – Semporna – Mabul Island and return by van/coach and boat.
  • Bungalow type accommodation on twin sharing basis with attached bathroom.

  • NOTE: It is advisable not to dive on the last day. However, if you wish to do so, you will have to sign a separate liability/release waiver form. The latest recommendation from DAN, Training Agencies, etc, indicate that you should wait a minimum of 18 hours and sometimes up to 24 hours after diving before you fly. However, we recognized that people, agencies and even computers/tables differ on this. For those who do a morning dive (one morning boat dive at MABUL only) on day of return. Please note bar bill must be settled the night before and all belonging s must be cleared and checked out before the first morning boat dive.
  • Sipadan dives subject to QUOTA and WEATHER PERMITTING. Diving at Sipadan may be at anytime of the day.
  • The above mentioned rates are subject to availability. Kindly note that no reservation has been made at this moment.
  • Program on day 3 to day 6 is available to switch.

Travel content

Located in the crystal waters of the Celebes Sea, Sipadan is indisputably the most famous scuba destination in Malaysia. It has one of the world's richest marine ecosystems and is truly a diver's paradise. Once described by Jacques Cousteau as an "untouched piece of art," the Island is home to more than 3,000 species of fish and hundreds of unique coral species. Grab your mask, snorkel and flippers and explore this exotic underwater world full of diverse marine life, including hammerhead sharks, barracuda, bumphead parrotfish, trevally, whale sharks, manta rays, turtles, undersea caves and a reef wall that reaches down to 600 meters. A visit to this small island is near the top of every diver's wish list.

Travel Itinerary

  • Day 1:
    Beijing/Shanghai – Kuala Lumpur - Tawau
    • Take the morning flight from Beijing/Shanghai to Tawau via Kuala Lumpur.
    • Upon arrival, private transfer to the hotel and time at leisure to enjoy the sumptuous seafood and lively markets of Tawau.
    • Overnight in Tawau
  • Day 2:
    Tawau – Mabul Island (B L D)
    • Transfer to Semporna by van or coach (approximately 1 ½ hours). Upon arrival at Semporna Jetty proceed to Mabul Island via boat (approximately 45 min boat ride, depending on the sea of weather conditions). Proceed to briefing, registration and check in.
    • After lunch on the day of arrival there will be two boat dives, one of the boat dives will be an orientation dive with our dive master.

  • Day 3:
    Mabul Island (B L D)
    • Sipadan is one of the big fish capitals of the world. Find yourself surrounded by a spiraling vortex of barracudas, scores of reef sharks, large schools of passing trevally and herds of massive marauding bumphead parrotfish. It is easy to understand how Jacques Cousteau got so excited about diving at Sipadan when he visited and declared it an "untouched piece of art".

  • Day 4:
    Mabul Island (B L D)
    • Dive the shallow waters of Kapalai Dive Resort and enjoy a staggering array of colorful fish and objects in the crystal clear waters.

  • Day 5:
    Mabul Island (B L D)
    • Mabul Island is one of the richest single destinations for exotic small marine life anywhere in the world. Located in the clear waters of the Celebes Sea off the mainland of Sabah, it is surrounded by gentle sloping reefs.
    • One Sunset bonus dive without Dive Master at Mabul House Reef.
    • Overnight in Mabul Island
  • Day 6:
    Mabul Island (B L D)
    • Time at leisure for whole day.

  • Day 7:
    Mabul Island - Tawau - Kuala Lumpur (B L)
    • Free time at leisure in the morning and then check out.
    • Boat transfer from Mabul Island to Semporna Jetty, and then take the van or coach to Tawau airport to take the flight to Kuala Lumpur.
  • Day 8:
    Kuala Lumpur – Beijing/Shanghai
    • Flight from Kuala Lumpur to Beijing
