      Travel content

      Experience China’s longest and most famous river with its breath-taking scenery and historical sights. Winding its way through the heartland of China, the Yangtze River is a rich tapestry that encapsulates the country like nothing else. From rugged mountain vistas, to booming metropolises and sleepy villages, this is a China adventure like no other.

      Travel Itinerary

      • Day 1:
        Chongqing

        Transfer from airport, train station or hotel to pier and board the cruise vessel in the evening. Later your river guide will give you an introduction about the cruise and the facilities on board. Cruise vessel will leave Chongqing that evening.

      • Day 2:
        Yangtze River

        Relax and enjoy the countryside of Southwestern China. You are invited to join a meeting with the cruise director who will provide you with interesting information about the Yangtze River. After lunch your cruise vessel will arrive at Zhongxian county for your first excursion at Shibaozhai  Pagoda. This magnificent pagoda was built against a cliff so only three walls are man-made. The Captain’s Welcome Dinner in the evening is followed by a pleasant performance with dances and songs by the crew.

      • Day 3:
        Yangtze River

        Today will be very exciting. You pass the first of the Three Gorges, the narrow "Qutang Gorge" in the morning after breakfast. It is followed by the mystic "Wu Gorge" with its famous mountains and green slopes. After lunch you disembark for an excursion to the Shennong Stream or other similar places . This small tributary of the Yangtze River is the main transportation link for the farmers living in the area. Even today they use small wooden boats that are pulled upstream. Return to your cruise vessel in the late afternoon. The ship enters the last of the gorges, "Xiling Gorge" with dinner following in the evening.

      • Day 4:
        Yichang

        After breakfast, you start your last shore excursion and visit the massive Three Gorges Dam: the largest hydro-power plant in the world. After returning to the ship, you pass the ship locks of the gigantic dam and enter the Eastern section of the "Xiling Gorge". Arrival in Yichang and disembarkation around noon. Transfer to airport, train station or hotel.
