Beijing's Airport handles 86m passengers in 2014

Beijing’s Capital International Airport handled 86.1 million passengers in 2014, marking a 2.9% increase compared to 2013. The result secures the hub's position as the world's second busiest airport, after Atlanta's Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport. Beijing Capital handled 582,000 take-off s and landings during the year. New carriers at the hub in 2014 included China's Tibet Airlines, Qingdao Airlines, Hebei Airlines and Zhejiang Loong Air, plus Iran's Mahan Air, Russia's Aurora and Hawaiian Airlines and Dynamic Airways of the USA. Of the total traffic, 20.7m were international passengers, up 4.6% year-on-year.
